I got the final things needed to begin my wine making quest. The rest, I had received about a month before for Christmas, having been wanting to make wine for about 2 years. I finally have the means. Mouse over the image to see the arrows, allowing you to navigate the gallery. No idea why they don't show by default.

I am also stubborn. Though I'm obviously new to wine making, I didn't want to use a kit. Making wine conveys the obvious benefit of getting a ton of wine (30 bottles for 6 gallons brewed), but I feel I would only be actually proud of it if I made it on my own. It's the same as the preference for not being proud of my drawings featuring use of stencils.

And here we are. It turned out wonderfully. I love the taste, I love the color, it's beautifully clear, it smells nice.. My only complaint: I may have added too much sugar at the start. Not because sweetness; it is VERY strong for wine. I think I calculated the minimum % it should be is 12%, though the instructions noted there is a lot of sugar in the fruit as well that was slowly mixed into the must, raising eventual %. It tastes more like 14%. I think it would have been perfect around 9%.

Carving lapis lazuli dice, building a Tak game board, computer teardown for scrap, building a forge, and more coming eventually. This will be replaced when I get to one of those.
